Had MOT last week and failed on a few things and not helped by the fact one of the hoses blew off whilst on the ramps.. oops :smt104
So just need to bung some new discs on the front, steering idler. steering control rod rod thingy... basically all the bloomin things I'll be removing when I fit the T25 stuff
Hopefully re-test tomorrow and back out on the road
Happy Dayz

Nice van dude
Im a bit slow so you'll have to bare with me... did you originally fit the engine?
Im thinking of 16v mine now and was wondering how you go about the mounting process? ( fanar fanar)
Do you attach the engine to the box then work out how the angle goes or have you mad lot already patented dimensions on this
oh and does the t25 box mount on the exiting mounts or do you have to fabricate them?

hi - since jace has very limited access and ive done a fair bit on his bus ill try to help....
originally jase ran a carbed passat engine before the gti (whichwas from a scirocco).
16v/8v makes no odds really both willfit.
Jace bought his adaptor but i dont know where from...he is still considering using the t25 housing on the bay box....this is talked about here... http://www.vwkd.co.uk/bb/viewtopic.php?t=59
the angle will be determined by the bellhousing which bolts in place of your bay B/H
the general fitting process is the same for any conversion ...basically I did as you say - mate the whole unit with box up and bolted into van supported on stands then worked around it. I used a isngle bar for my scoob but I know jace ha a ladder bar set up - but design is all up to you really - its not too hectic at all.
Afraid I dont know about the t25 mounts to bay chassis |
