Any help with places to get adapters from in the UK or companies happy to ship would be most useful.

Just got this response from Kenedy in US
...
We can ship to the UK. If you tell me what your looking for I can work up a price for you with an estimate for shipping. I say estimate because I do not know what
the final weight of package will be until ready to go out.
We accept Visa, Master Card and Discover.

| for subaru www.rjes.co.uk are awesome bits of kit - uses a bellhousing rather than an adaprtor plate. Means you use subaru F/W, clutch and starter - minimal hybrid parts. |

Hi are there any people out there are looking for Ford adapter plates - the more people who ring GBE the better I reckon - especially if we could get enough to make a batch. I'm ringing them at luch time to see if there is any chance at all. Meanwhile post here if your interested
I'm ringing them today as I've jsut sold my mini and I'm gutted - got to get my teeth into the camper project to fill the void - plus Ive actually got some cash now.

Spoken to GBE this afternoon, it seems as thought they stopped making the plates as 4 times in ten they were supplied duff info about the engine or gearbox and it became more hassle than it was worth
Gutted because I really want to get cracking. |

What a bugger... I will be removing mine v.soon next week or so.. I wonder what it would cost to get one made up off that ! prob stupid money.
Think Rich is off to machinist V. soon could get him to take with him and ask.

Not giving up! My bus is destined for water cooling.
The ford diesel is definatly my conversion of choice - If I can get an adapter.
If you do get yours to a machinest then let me know I would be most interested.
To be honest I havn't got strict time constraints as I've got tons of resto work to do as well. Just wanna do some interesting stuff to keep me motivated - I'm fed up of fixing other peoples bodges, they never fail to suprise me.
Cheers |

I've found a used Ford to VW adapter - £50 comes with input shaft and bearing spacer??
I'm getting it tonight. Won't be going in my bus straight away so I'm going to take it to an engineering firm to see how much it'd cost to replicate. (There is a local firm who have made adapters for landrover to mercedes autobox for my work - so hopefully they'll be able to do it)
If anyone is interested in one let me know I'll have a price next week sometime hopefully. |

Good ole Ebay!! Thanks to the chap who came and bought my spare pop top, just chatting he said he'd seen one on Ebay. It was only on for a few hours because I emailed him asking for buy it now, he said £50 and removed it from ebay!!
My mate collected it last night (hes at uni just down the road) I get it at the weekend.
Think I got a bargain really - just need to find a turbo diesel lump (10 a penny) and a 2.0 gearbox now (bit tougher I think) I'd budgeted for around £250-300 for the adapter/conversion parts so now I have a bit spare it'd be rude not to do it all at the same time. |
