DISCLAIMER: this is all "as far as I know" Wink

the highest factory ratios in a bay window are in the "6-rib" 2-litre gearboxes. The highest factory ratios in a Type25 are also in the "6-rib" 2-litre gearboxes. The thing is, the ratios are the same so one is no better than the other.

The type25 gearbox has a hydraulic clutch and a side-operated selector rather than the nose-operated selector. You'd have to go to the trouble of making up a new shiting mechanism to make the bay window gear lever work with the type25 box and for no advantage really except maybe the hydro clutch. If you really wanted that you could rig up a hydraulic clutch on your bay window gearbox.

I wouldn't bother with the t25 for reasons above...or the freeway flyer for the price....for not much more you could get subarugears box which is much better suited ratios for a turbo

I previously had a 091 modified gears on my turbo and having driven it it was too low geared in hindsight.

I have bought a T25 fitted with a AHU 1.9 Tdi but wasnt a runner, ad said just wiring and plumbing to sort but turns out needs a bit more than that!

Had planned to get running in the T25 but bought it for engine/box/adaptor parts so eventually going to go in a 1977 bay, had planned on using the box, maybe using complete T25 gear lever/linkage??

If its a none starter maybe better looking at the inverted Passat/A4 gearbox with adaptor?
