Hi guys,
So I am very close to finishing my conversion! It's been a long haul and I have overcome hurdle after hurdle but the end is now in sight!
So I have a hybrid wiring loom originally from ej201n engine 2.0 na with lots cut off and some added. 2002 Wrx Impreza wagon donor.
My most recent problem was coolant temperature and throttle position sensor not working! From what I can make out these sensors used to take a live feed from the instrument panel...? I was not expecting this after watching people cut the connectors off on YouTube... anyway I found the problem but obviously I have no dials so no 5v live wire to power the coolant and oil pressure.
I spliced into the maf sensor 5v feed but it draws too much power and cuts out when warm, I spliced into the 5v diag wire and it runs like a dream for the first time!! Only problem is it now runs a diagnostic check every time I ignition on haha.
Can anybody tell me the best way to get 5v power to this sensor wire? As much detail as possible will be greatly appreciated. Should I be concerned about amps?
I've struggle using wiring diagrams from E and G engine codes (slightly different colours and pins) but I have been unable to source the manual for code N! It's turned out to be a nice installation with a new fuse box and everything hooked up nicely.
Please help me finish it so I can get out in the sun!! |

| Should be able to do it with a simple voltage divider circuit. Just figure out what resistance you need to split 12V into 5V and 7V. Then just use the 5V side to trigger your sensor. |
