Hi all,
Ok, must be mad as have my hands full already.
Just wrapping up a Subaru conversion into a Nova kit car, but now getting distracted by ideas for the beach buggy.
Our 1999 Polo second car runabout (Mk3 6N I think) is nearing life end. Engine (1.4L Petrol) is a hoot to drive, but the car is rotting around it and likely to be scrapped end of the month.
I hate to waste a good engine, so am thinking about using it in our 1972 Apal buggy. I recall a few years ago Chesil Speedster talked about using Polo engines in their 356 replicas, and I have also heard the water cooled bay window vans use a variant of a Polo engine.
I spotted this adapter plate on VW Heritage website:
https://www.vwheritage.com/shop/7X01...vwb-kombi-w-c/
Would this do the trick?
If not is there a suitable adapter out there?
Anyone any experience of using such an engine on a beetle/buggy?
Any info/suggestions much appreciated.
Cheers,
Jim |
