Material for adapter plates?

Am I right in thinking that Mild steel will be strong enough?

Looking at 25mm thickness, but wondered if there was a spec on the type steel needed at all?

I know if it was to be aluminium it would need to be T6 for strength?

Luckily I found a supplier who can provide rings cnc plasma cut to size, so I can make an MDF template, get them to cut me a ring and I cant drill holes to suit!

I've a 15mm mild steel adapter plate on mine. Heavy enough brute.
I'd imagine 25mm would be a monster in Mild steel.
