Type 2 bay upper gearbox mount

I've read that an upper gearbox mount is needed for a scooby engine in a VW bay window, is this correct? EJ20 n/a going into a 1972 'crossover' crewcab bay.

I'm not sure on the specifics with a bus conversion. My friend just finished a Subaru gears conversion. It had a front box mount and the second rear most mount used the Subaru engine mounts. This is the same as how my notch is done.

They use the Subaru engine sub frame, make two mounts/brackets and you can fit the sub frame into the rear of a bus.

Do crossovers have upper mounts or are they the same as earlys ?

obviously if you have the lower mount just adapt that ,if not then you need an upper..

I bodged this from the original on mine..

thanks, yes the cross over has the upper mount which the gear box would usually bolt too - i'm hearing conflicting instructions that this needs to be cut?

...Ahhh wait a minute, what method of gearbox-engine attachment are you going with?..
I used the RJES bellhousing, so the bus had to be cut to clear..
