I'll try and keep my begging questions to a minimum - i've used the search function and can't find the answer...

I have te RJES vss which goes between the clocks and cable on a type 2 VW bay window but don't know where this needs to wire into the loom.

its a 3G ECU 22611 AC550 - I've also searched the web and can't find anything which refers specificaly to which pin this goes to. Do I try to find the plug for the vss from the scooby in the loom and then just use this directly, wiring the RJES into a live and earth? Its not obvious which one this is as only some of the loom is marked out

I haven't a wiring diagram for your ecu, I'm guessing you've a 2.0 litre ej20 circa 1996???

There is a single pin in the three ecu plugs that you wire the vss signal into. The remaining wires for the vss are for a switched live and earth. Which exact pin you require to wore the vss signal into will remain a mystery.

Have you got a wiring diagram you've used?

thanks, yes, its a 1996 EJ20, no I don't have a wiring diagram, pretty much came up blank finding any that werent Japanese. I'm going to go look at an imrezza at the weekend so I can see where the speed sensor is wired into the loom I should then hopefully be able to trace back in my own loom.

I'm pretty sure the speed sensor is in the dash, something to do with the speedometer.

Id you search the net for "Impreza service manual PDF" you should be scle to find something. There are plenty of preface lift classics manuals available and I have seen a facelift classic manual before.

That's what mine is wired into I think. I'll have to check my wiring diagram, it's been a while. That's the trouble with Subaru engines they're fit and forget Happy
