Currently have a Impreza 95 2.0 non turbo in my t3 westy and even though I've been cruising round northern France between 70-80mph last week, I'm a sucker for more power. What is involved with changing upto a 3.0? My conversion was done by TSR and I have been replacing any suspect parts with RJES so it is now running perfect. RJES parts include vss, rpm module, reverse coolant manifold and piping kit.

A few q's:

- Is it straight swap with the engine and modified loom or is more involved? Can I reuse my rjes reverse manifold or is it different?

- My plan would be for RJES to do the loom and not an aftermarket ecu. So what vehicles should I be looking out for?

- Is it easier to upgrade to a 2.5 over the 3.0 and is it worth the effort from 2.0 to 2.5?

Thanks,
Rory

If you go 3.0 then your basically starting again. Although in saying that the 3.0 literally just has two extra cylinders hanging from the back. Your engine mounts will be ok but that's about it.

I think a 2.5 would be good. I went out in a T25 with a 2.5 engine in it and I could compare it to a modern empty transit van. Was respectable.

My 1995 2.0 turbo I have fitted into my notch. Feels ok but a little big laggy off boost but always feels like it's winding up as the revs go up. Feels alright. Go past 3.5rpm and beyond and then your get everything as it enters warp speed. I'd say it's fine for a car but in a van you want more torque then you do high rpm with turbo boost.
