Hey guys,

I'm presently removing the loom from my 2001 Legacy 2.5 donor car for my planned late bay conversion. Having spoken to RJES, it seems that they have a backlog of looms until April/May this year so I wonder if I could do it myself. I found a really good site (below) which gives the wiring schematics, but I'm still not sutre if this is something I can tackle myself.

http://www.glasairproject.com/GlasairI/index.htm

Your opinions would be most appreciated.

Hi Mate

I picked up my loom last week from RJES. Originally I was going to have a go myself as the waiting time was 2 months but decided to wait. I gave Richard a big box with the full wiring loom, got a back a loom about a meter and a half long all marked up. Plugged it all in connected 4 wires and it started within seconds

In my opinion well worth the money and the wait

Cheers Rusty, how much did it cost to get the loom done by RJES?

I'm thinking that for piece of mind it may be best to go to them.

Get Rich to do it, appox £350 is depending on, year etc. Thing is with Rich, if you use him he'll always help you out if your stuck on something. He's done 2 for me, he does a top job and you'll probably take longer doing the conversion any way Wink

This is it.. spend the money and then don't be writing one of the "loom help" threads on here. Mine is still in a box from when I got it back from RJES but I have the confidence it will work when i need it.
Cheers,
Matt.

Had my loom done by Richard and have to say well worth the money, Neat tidy, labelled, pretty much plug nd play. Still working on my conversion but fitted the loom turned the key and first time fire Happy . As the company name says engineered solutions and that's what you get, its a treat to get great British engineering not problems.
