AAZ needed urgently!!

Hi all out there.
I am in desperate need of an AAZ replacement engine.
My 1.6 has died and I am switching to AAZ power as 1.6 are thin on the ground.
I have been quoted silly money so far and hoped that someone may have an aaz tucked away somewhere for me!
Please help!!

Hi, Any joy with finding a motor?

My AAZ went recently on the motorway - haven't fully investigated but suspect it's a gone'er.

I'm toying with turbo'ing a non-turbo AEF or similar as it appears that reasonably priced AAZ's with less than 130k mileage are non-existant.

haven't really got that sort of moola although I'm sure it's a good way into a conversion if you're starting from scratch

im changing a 1600 for an aaz. i dont think there is much wrong with the 1600 engine... I think its from a mk1 golf. maybe. There is much more than just changing the engine to consider though. Gearbox ratios etc... what set up are you running now? lawn mower 1600 petrol?.. what gearbox, bellhousing etc ?
