this is a stumbling block on my almost-finished 1Y conversion:
to the folks with 1Y/AAZ converted vans with the engine at 15 degrees (almost vertical, not leaned over with the Type25 bellhousing), what have you done with the throttle cable? I'm having real trouble getting a smooth pedal action, getting full throttle and preventing the throttle from sticking open due to the sticky cable/pedal.
I had a custom cable made up that I shortened in-situ. I have made a longer lever for the underside of the pedal in an effort to gain a longer throw at the pedal and as a result, a longer pull on the throttle arm on the injection pump.
any past experience or solutions welcome |

problem solved: I went back to the cable company who I got the original cable from and got a low-friction version of the cable. Job done, smooth throttle pedal action |

Good Work Trev.
I like the idea of the longer throw pedal.
For what its worth my cable is a T2 front and MK3 golf rear joined above teh starter motor |

that was one of the easier things on the conversion: Just a strip of 3mm thick steel drilled at regular intervals along its length so I could fine-tune the amount of throw required. The bellcrank of the original pedal assembly received one extra hole to secure the longer lever using the original hole for the other bolt.
