Had stuttering and misfire problems before so changed coil leads to plugs, ran fine for a while but same problem back again.I have separate exhausts on each side of engine and i can see both misfiring and stuttering. Got no codes showing either time its happened .Im sure this could happen to smaller engines so has anyone got any suggestions.

Have a look at your crank sensor, my Brothers SVX was spluttering and would cut out occasionaly under load, the crank sensor was covered in crap, cleaned it up and its' fine now, it never showed a trouble code.

If you have an igniter I'd also presume you have the older style coil on plug type coil packs. If so these are renowned for the tips cracking and allowing the spark to pass through to the cylinder head, they just degrade and you won't necessarily be able to see the cracks but could possibly fall apart with some force.

This is a big problem with the phase one turbo engines, they develop a miss fire and hesitation at high rpm's. the cute is to up grade to a later type ignition system.
