| hi guys I have gearbox with the code cu ...stamped on it does this means its been rebuilt to a 091 gearbox standard ??? |

it's obviously impossible for us to know what's inside your gearbox but if you stick up a photo of it, it'll help us roughly identify it. I.e. a 3-rib gearbox is from a 1600 bus, 5-rib is from a 1800 bus, 6-rib is from a 2 litre bus.
If you suspect it's been rebuilt then it's very hard to know what's inside. |

| I don't think the cu will mean it's rebuilt ....from my memory I think that's a t25 1600 box but it's been a long time so don't count on that info. |

The cu gearbox is from 2ltr late bays, lawn mower 2ltr t25s untill 83. Great box Getting rare as they are used for td and tdi conversions _________________ Were am I going to get one of them! |

You see that the CU box originally was the very common box for the 1600 VW t2. _________________ 1973 BayWindow running 1.9 110 bhp TDI with flipped gearbox. |
