Hi guys. Well I did it at last I've solved all my cooling problems in one nine day stint back at home. I've got loads of photos so I'm gonna load em up in two parts.

The New system works better than I could ever imagine I sat crawling along for an hour on sunday in the burning midday sun, in a traffic jam (on the way back to cornwall) and the van sat at between 80-90 degrees with the fan popping on and off every 10 min. As soon as the day got cooler at around five the fan didn't come on at all as the rad alone was cooling the engine. Result.

Parts used and prices.

Landrover 200TDI Rad (secondhand £60
14" Fan (pacet style) £45
1mm Sheet Metal £30
10mx38mm Rubber pipe + Fittings £140
Mitsubishi wheel cover £60

Total £335-Ooooch!

I also recon that I've got an extra 10mph out of the van now that I dont have to drive it quite so conservativly.

Right I'm gonna upload some images so construction pic's up tomorrow[/img]

Nice one, looking forward to that.

The price of pipe soon adds up don't it?! Be thankful it's not Samco. Hell paint it blue anyway Wink

Ok hear is the first instalment. These are some pic's of the development of the fake wheel rad housing.

I then trial fitted it to see what adjustment I had to make.

Modifications made to bottom of housing for air flow and pipes

And hear it is finished

And from the side

And this is the top support

I'll post more of the fitting and the pipe work tomorrow-the weather is too nice and I gotta go skate. Cheers hope this is usefull?

Some excellent work there matey but where's the pics of it on the bus !! Grin

Why didn't you run copper pipe from front to back with a bit of rubber at each end ? surely that would have saved you a few pennies !

I guess you also don't want to hear we have a Mittsubushi wheel cover kicking about our barn !

Anyway stop sliding around on your skateboard and show us some more pics

Yes finding out that you have one kiciking around the barn is a bit anoying-dame you!! Mind you if any one else fancys doing similar there is a cover up for grabs-easy find!

I wanted big pipe as the rad is 38mm in/outlets-I was gonna use copper pipe but 35mm was £30 a meter!!!!! So £10 a meter for rubber (from hyphose) seamed like a better deal. I didnt check out too many other options as I had time against me so there may be cheaper solutions like stainles??

Ok hears some pic's of Fan Shroud and fttings to van.

And another

And fittings

And all finished

And final some shots of it all on the van.

And hear are a couple with the nose cone on-that I started doing this morning so still unfinished. I've still gotta add the mesh (job for tonight) and then get me an alu trim cut by the waterjet man.

And another
