Seems there is just 6 weeks to try and stop this happening.
Not sure how yet.......
YOU / WE MUST DO SOMETHING NOW OR WE WILL NEVER DRIVE OUR MODIFIED VEHICLES AGAIN..........(maybe) _________________ 66 Camper with 2.2 Subaru

When I saw Neil post here, it had been read 40 times with not a single reply.
COME ON FOLKS. Get involved with this. It is real. The good folks who run www.the-ace.org.uk have been looking out for and predicting this for years - the only people to take it seriously.
Every single user of this forum values their ability to modify their vehicles. Ignore the apathetical views of others on other forums and do whatever is necessary to make sure the UK modified car scene as a whole unites over this issue to make sure it's voice is heard.
The way the new legislation seems to be being sneaked in on the back of old consultations done years ago is worrying. The way it all sounds so unmanageable is also worrying. Everyone will have a quick read and think ‘that can’t ever be enforced’, so not take it too seriously. However, they are putting the rules into place to ban modifications with no requirement to enforce them – YET! This is the first stage of things to come. GET INVOLVED
See NeilC's links above for the details. The forum which has been added to the ACE site in the last few days is the best place to find out the latest that I have found www.the-ace.org.uk/chat_with_ace/
vwkd admin - is there any way a message about this can be sent out to all registered users? _________________ Regards,

it seems all that is needed is the proposals being given to the daily mail, and a slow news day.
seems it needs a run of stories about nanny-state to sop it in its tracks.
i'm not underestimating this, as it would wipe out my small business and a hell of a lot of other firms.
However, i have to wonder how it would be enforced? would our vans be refused an MOT? rendering the vehicle scrap unless re-fitted with an lawn mower?
I think the one-post on ACE sums it up from the historic vehicle society or what-not;
"there are no historic vehicle specifications in the uk"
if all they can do is enforce what in on the V5 then my 2.0 petrol van (well, thats what the V5 says) will be fitted with a subaru 2.0 petrol lump and the original air-cooled engine number will be stamped into the block somewhere. _________________ '79 Bay running citroen 1.9td and phat tyres!
