Hello

I am posting on behalf of Tony as i am finishing off the coversion on hus bus for him, however i have run into a small problem with the wiring.

We have 2 lots of 3 wires left that we are unable to remember where they origionally went...

The 1 bundle of 3 wires exit the main body of the bus into the engine bay through one of the gromets on the off side

This contains the following wires:
1 x Blue with green flash
1 x Brown with green Flash
1 x Thick black

Second set is from just behind the off side rear light below the test connection box and again has 3 wires:

This contains the folowng wires:
1 x Brown with white flash
1 x Brown with red flash
1 x Brown

Can anyone tell me exactly what these wires do as this is pretty much all that is holding the final wiring of the conversion as i have never worked on a VW bus before and am a little reluctant to cut all the wiring open to chase the wires..

Thanks for taking time to read this and hope you can offer some help!

James (on behalf of Tony!)

Top 3
1 x Blue with green flash Oil Pressure warning light
1 x Brown with green Flash ?
1 x Thick black 12V to coil (Turns on with IGN) - I think

Can you tell us what year and what engine was in the bus?

The brown with green flash in with the coil and oil pressure wire you will probably find is grey with green, they just go brown with age.

Thats just a diagnostic wire, doesnt do anything

I've had no experience with bus wiring but i'd make a bet that:

This contains the folowng wires:
1 x Brown with white flash
1 x Brown with red flash
1 x Brown

Thats the wiring to the heater booster fan that sat above the engine.
