Hi all - a sad day...my trusty old vito has expired in a major way. The rings have gone and its not worth spending the £fixing up so I am breaking it.
So I have a dieselveg twin tank vegetable oil conversion kit for sale. This is one of the best quality kits on the market not to be confused with crap on ebay. See this link for info...this is the exact same kit. http://www.dieselveg.com/special_offers.htm
Cost £600 new and has never let me down enabling 70,000 miles of free an very cheap/free motoring. This kit basically paid for my van and more!
I did a lot of research before I bought and never regretted using this companies product.
If you want to find out more search the vwkd forums - i did a how to fit write up somewhere to so you know how to fit.
Basically it works that you have 2 tanks - one small jerry can for derv and fill your normal fuel tank with Veg oil (new or filtered free stuff from the chip shop) once your engine reaches 60 degrees it switches over automatically and seamlessly to veg oil and you drive happily for free or for a lot less than £1.30 a litre! At the end of each trip you flick back to diesel so you are ready to start next time you use it.
Most older (non common rail) diesels (generally up to 99) can be converted but ones with bosch pumps are better.
Kit includes: 22l tank -heat exchanger, all valves and solenoids, dash switch box, the wiring loom, some plastic fuel line (advisable that you buy new - its cheap enough) temp senders, heater loop t pieces, return heater, tank straps and I think thats it!!!
IM looking for £250 for the complete kit.
I also have a home in line filtering system which i would sell for £75 - thats a fule pump style hand held nozzle, 2 x filter housing and a 240v transfer pump. i used to run my oil through this with 10 micron filter and 1 micron filter in to make sure it was clean before it went in the van. You will need to get some of the filters from OIlybits but they are v cheap.
Please ask if any questions - dont believe the bloke in the pub that says he runs on pure veg oil all year round!!!

Collection preferred SN148BS - its still in the van so if your quick you can see it all and drive it about and even remove it if you like |

My mate runs his 300TDi landrover discovery on veg oil, usually about 80% in the summer and dropping down to around 40% in the winter.
His way works fine but your kit is a far superior way of doing it and if i had an older diesel i'd be snapping this up
Good luck with the sale.
Cheers Ian. |

| cheers Ian - it is an ace piece of kit. Your right you can run without this conversion for sure but it is only a matter of time before you will encounter some major problems with the fuel system - especially if your using Waste veg oil. The thicker oil will create problems in winter with residue build up, strain on diesel pump and injector issues and more - so this is the 'proper' way to do it as the kit preheats the oil before it is injected. |

like the sound of this. i run a 2000 x reg velle 2.5 tdi five cylinder. do you think it would work on my bus? i have unlimited supply of chip fat from work and really need to pull my finger out. if not just to buy your filtering system but hopefully run the lot.
can you pm me your number so i can discuss it?

I'm pretty sure the 2.5 TDI pumps are made of Chocolate and not ideal for running on veg oil. Do you know if it's the VP44 pump as that is the one made by Cadbury's. _________________ 1971 Devon Bay with 1800 Ford Turbo Diesel Engine (wip)
