| I had the subi engine running today but I could only keep it running by putting my hand over the air in let, using my hand to control how it runs i.e. when it's idling I need to kind of half cover the inlet and when the revs are up I can remove my hand. I tried fitting a piper cross air filter but it won't keep running past a couple of seconds. Any ideas of what the problem could be other than a hose off or broken on the air pipe? |

you've got a air leak somewhere making it run lean covering the inlet is making it richer like a choke flap _________________ 1964 rat 13 window deluxe 1Z tdi,

After air leaks I'd suggest: sticking IAC valve or MAF (buggered or bad connection) _________________ The advice you receive on here is worth the paper it's written on.
