On a Golf/t4 round header tank what should i do with the top outlet? leave it to vent in to a bottle or to air or plumb it back in to the system with the bottom outlet from the header tank?

in stock application its the air bleed back pipe from the highest part of the cooling system, which in earlier cars (golf2, earlier seat's etc) comes from the radiator top outlet and on later cars come from the top hose outlet on the cylinder head (mk3 golfs onwards) hope this helps _________________ 1964 rat 13 window deluxe 1Z tdi,

so if i im using the standard legacy rad (small overflow pipe from just under the filler cap) can i just join the pipe from the rad to the said pipe on the expansion tank or would it be best to block off both with some hose and bolts jammed in the end?

OK been thinking with my cap on now: Bottom of expansion tank to T pieace in pipe from stat housing to rad, small pipe on expansion tank to T piece from top hose from manifold to rad and the vent from the legacy rad blanked. Heater pipes are looped together. (Manifold as subaru intended) Is this ok?
