ok, I have just dropped off the gearbox for rebuilding, went to town on it and gave it to Bears Motorsports to work their magic. Question that has cropped up is which clutch and flywheel is usually used when using a 2.0 box and 1.9td pug engine? Also from experience have any of you guys had to alter the input shaft length on the box?
Any help appreciated,thanks |

Hi Topcat , best clutch to use would be a 228mm 2.0L lawn mower/1.9L waterboxer , the VW flywheel should be mounted to the Peugeot flywheel
There should be no alterations to the input shaft
what year vehicle have you removed the engine and box from ? _________________ Auto Union Munga Jeep ,T4 2.4td , T4 2.5tdi ,Mercedes S Class on LPG , 66 splity deluxe , GP mk1, 3 type 25s 1 with 1.9dt pug engine + 1 with N/A pug engine ,,there are 6 t25s with pug power in Darlington |

Hi and sorry for the late reply.
The engine is from a N Reg 405. Looking at your post you say the pug flywheel should be bolted to the vw flywheel?
Gear box now back from bears and looks fantastic. Its had taller 3rd and 4th gear to help with the top end cruising speed. |
