Just headed off to Bristol Hose with a nice big shopping list of hose bits and pieces I needed only to come back pretty much empty handed They were good for straight runs of stuff but were super expensive for any angles and oddities that I required.
Anyway here is my shopping list, where do you think I'll find what I need..
Charge Coolers Pipes (air)
2x 50mm ID Elbows
1x Straight Tube 400m to connect above elbows.
Charge Coolers Pipes (water)
4m (16mm ID!) Hose
2x Reducers 20mm ID to 16mm ID (to connect to bike rad)
2x summuts to cap off bike rad inlet/outlet used for expansion when on bike.
Other
300mm - 57mm ID Pipe for fuel tank.
Also need some other bits to connect my air filter up to turbo and t in breather.
Some elbows for rad with take off to expansion tank
4m Servo Hose
and so on and so on.
I'm thinking Ebay will be my friend for a lot of this...scrappy is also looking fave too
cheers me dears _________________ 1971 Devon Bay with 1800 Ford Turbo Diesel Engine (wip)

eBay again fella.
I got everything from there.
I used nylon hose for my charge cooler but the hose connections are 12mm ID I think. If you Do go for the nylon hose ask the supplier for the metal inserts to allow you to clamp onto it. Paid like £25 for 30meters.
Be warned though all these silicone connections ain't cheap. The guy I used often has a ten percent sale on but I don't know how often. His products where branded ASH, automotive silicone hose... Sorry don't know his name.
My 19mm to 12mm straight reducers are £8 each _________________ Think......

Kinda figured it's gonna be a bit pricey but hey rather get new than have this happen to me again...
The one that's getting me atm is the 57mm Fuel Pipe cheapest I can find is 60 odd squid !!! only seems to come in meter lengths which is annoying as I only need 40cm... keep hunting I guess.
Evening on ebay coming up me thinks .. now where's me calipers _________________ 1971 Devon Bay with 1800 Ford Turbo Diesel Engine (wip)

1 meter of 57mm silicone straight hose is about £25 on eBay.
Not that it's much use I've got 190mm of 55mm blue silicone hose if you want it.
Just send me your address, bank details and your pin number ok _________________ Think......

I never realised there was a specific type of silicone hose for fuel.
The ones I found don't list fuel as an application only turbo/ intercoolers/coolant etc.
Trying putting fuel into the search and you find samco hoses which are listed as fuel hose. £110 Per meter length but I bet your just paying for the Samco name on the hose. _________________ Think......

try siliconhoses.com
Also I would speak to pirtek (theres one in westbury) and sure theres one near to Bris. Since youre using diesel i would have thought any of the hose they use for hydraulics would be fine......or you can go for my table leg from B&Q approach...meaning you can use the original hose. think that was like £6 or something. would rather weld it at my house tho to save moving the welder :-)
also try Car builder solutions, rallydesign and Merlin motorsport. |

flexi pipe from CBS will work well with the tank being higher now.
welded to the filler so the steel pipe is longer.
surely you must have some pipe somewhere in your garage |
