how you drive has a big impact on it

EJ22 with a stock SSP 1303 box
give it $hit frequently, but never break traction, still going fine

a mate is coming up 2 years with a stock box and a single turbo WRX engine, its fine, like hansend said just dont be breaking traction all the time

If I was gonna do my bug conversion again I would go for a standard box + super diff. It saves a lot of work and nerves, it doesn't save you money because you need to get some HD parts -gearbox mounts, starter, pressure plate etc but is easier to put the whole thing together. Parts are available in most shops for VW lawn mower cars. There is a different story if you convert VW vans, in this case I would suggest to stay with the 002 or 009 gearboxes + RJES bellhousing

If I was to do it again then I wouldn't bother with the 915, quaiff atb diff, Kennedy adaptor nor the cable shifter system.

I'd just go straight in with a quaife 6speed box and atb diff with sequencial shifter.

Admittedly it's double the price of what I spent but it would amazing Grin
