Hi lads just wondering how you all got around this problem.I have a 901 porsche mated to an ej22 in a 1303. I've used an original bug front mount with an adapter i made and i welded ears onto the metal conversion plate as its a good thick solid metal plate .so i can use original subaru engine mounts.HOW IS EVERYONE ELSE DOING IT .PICS PLEASE |

I'll offer my limited knowledge on a 901 into a bug
Is it not common to keep the original rear bug mount, but to rotate it so it's backward this moving the gearbox further toward the front of the vehicle, then you drill the bottom of the bell housing enabling the use of the bug mount and bolts.
But don't you have to both out the frame horns to allow the for the cv joints, but then this all depends on the desired height of the gearbox you require.... Being as high as possible with a Subaru conversion.
Not having a clue about the front mount but I've got a picture of a piece of angle iron accommodating the change in the bolt mounting.
Have you looked on germanlook.net
There is a company in Germany bug@5speed that sell parts to fit a 901 into a bug. Think the prices are questionable but it would make former alot easier.
Gotta now, its taken me all day to write this _________________ Think......
