Just curious... does it matter which t25 box you use?????
may have found a five speed petrol just wasnt sure if it will fit ( ie does the fith gear stick out to far?)

as far as I know mate you need a t25 diesel bell housing - thus a std petrol box is no good...dont be tempted by 5 speed either as from what ive read its like and extra 1st ratehr than a taller 4th. I think there is some difference between early and late diesel boxes too but that was covered in the thread I linked to in Jaces GTI thread.
ideally buy a knackered box as you only need the bellhousing...
VW parts emporium had a diesel box for sale some time back - wasnt cheap tho. |

 see what i have put on that thread t25 diesel bellhousin 4 speed diesel box 5 turns of engine to 1 of wheels 4 speed petrol 1.9 4 turns engine 1 of wheels 1.9 pet 5 speed 3 and 8 10ths about some 5 speed vaery ,, see billys thread on boxes he might be able to find a bellhousing ,,and the bellhousing should fit bay box
