When I first fitted a Subaru engine I read somewhere that I ought to be using Subaru anti freeze, so I went to the dealer to get some. They told my they no longer had the Subaru branded stuff, but used some from Shell, which was apparently the same stuff as Subaru used to sell - i.e the flourescant green stuff.
I phoned a few Shell stations (assuming they'd be cheaper than Subaru), and the best they had was 1 litre bottles at about £4 or £5 each. Needing 5 litres, I gave it a miss, and have used stuff from my local motor factors since (Comma, I think, about £12 a gallon).

I'm running Brown Bros stuff (Unipart). Still lovely and blue Happy
50:50 mix, so 5-6 litres or so of AF.

If you are using copper/brass rads or your system has any of that in it, apparently the OAT (organic additive) types break down the solder so are best avoided. I've always used bog standard halfords stuff...
