hi all
is anyone out there using the r-type aftermarket guages ( oil pressure , oil temp & water temp )on their scooby conversions and what success have you had with them and are you running them from engine or straight off ecu

i bought a temp gage and the sender for it.
its electrical.same for oil pressure.

The only ECU output gauge wise is the Rev Counter, unless you run a lappy via the ODB port Wink (Temp, mph, injector pulse width, air temp, Exhaust O2, blah blah)

Make sure you have a matched Temp sender and gauge. Scooby sensor and VDO gauge doesn't show the correct reading, this can be frigged with a suitable resistor tho. This is only a bandaid cure though.

As I said on the phone Scooby uses a 1/8th BSPT on the manifold, most other makes of car (not Jap origin) use 1/8 NPT
You can use a NPT without retapping, just be careful and do not overtighten. There's 1 TPI (tooth per inch) difference between the 2 threads.

I've been running an NPT since day one with no probs.
