|
|
Been driving my T25 crewy for about 2 years now and done about 18k miles
Going to start a conversion on our camper in the next couple of months when I have all the bits together and was wondering what had moved on or what new stuff was availible to make it easier, faster or just more cool. Richard has sent me details of his new stuff so shall be using bell housing etc again. So if you know of any new stuff let us know.
thanks colin |

Hello Colin,
Go for the turbo this time! It'll make it faster and cooler!

Hi Mate
Already got the engine and its NA not turbo. The EJ20 in the crewy is fast enough for an old man like me
Have you finished the fasty yet?
Will you be at Tom's end of the month.
c u soon colin |

We're not going to Toms as I'm hoping to get some more done on the fasty. The engines in now but as it's a late model without the frame horns I need to build a subframe to hold it properly. Rads in, just need to plumb in the main coolant pipes, sort the fuel lines, and move the intercooler.
It's getting there.....

Hi Colin
The EJ20's a sweet little motor, should pull your Crewie along nicely.
It makes driving my bay a dream, nice little m/way cruiser & not too shabby on MPG either - 30 on a 65-70 mph cruise. _________________ The advice you receive on here is worth the paper it's written on.
Your experiences are worth shed loads to others, including the f'ups - live and learn.
Wouldn't YOU rather learn by someone else's mistakes? So would they.
'78 Bay, 2 litre 091 box, EJ20 NA & the ashtray's on the 'right' side.
I don't lean forward for hills any more

Hello Colin,
The only things I have dreampt up which can make the installation of a nat asp into a 2WD any simpler than they already are a bolt on fuel pump / filter / plumbing kit, a neat, quiet air filter installation, and a bolt on bracket / cover for the ECU, fuse box and relays. All of these are in my to do list, but not at the top (the shallow sump now is at the top of the to do list).
Once those are done, apart from drilling less than 10 holes, and tin snipping a bit of fire wall, it really will be totally bolt on by then, and I'll be really promoting complete kits of everything, with very detailed instructions. _________________ Regards,

Thanks for the replies guys
Looks like only Richard has really brought more goodies to the party and as I used his gear in the crewy I guess he will be getting another order soon for stuff for the camper
Now just got to sort a gas conversion out for this one.
cheers colin |

its a small world eh!! i still have my morris saloon - im trying to resist the urge to put a proper engine in it.
Im on here cos i was one of the founder members with JP who owns the forum (and i share a garage/barn with). My van has been undergoing major surgery for about 4 years now - part of which involves a scooby turbo....youll find it in Kool rides....ironically despite being one of the first on here...Ill probably be one of the last to finish
our third barn partner is doing a traveller at the mo....complete wood off resto. so if you know of any cheap sources of new wood im sure he would love to hear it |
