Howdy everyone, I'm new to this corner of town, the world of alternative transplant.

Some people might know me from the land of Volkszone

been doing air cooled now for almost 10 years and with the price of fuel and alot more travel I decided to go for a bit of water pumper in my old school cars.

Having said that I run a golf mk3 driver which I like because I get in start go and service once a year minimum effort!

Now its time to start playing and tuning my old stuff with new engines, word on the street this is a good place for it

Hi and welcome m8
I've got a few Air-cooled and a water cooled conversion myself. Both good in their own way but water cooled is much better on fuel and general upkeep
Have you got an engine in mind and what's it going in ?

alright mate

i always have a few ideas, first up im working on doing a diesel conversion on my bay window van, its sensible! im supposed to be picking up the engine (vw 1.6D) on wednesday.

on the other scale of things, I have a 1302s Beetle which I have been a bit unsure what I can afford/will do, it might be a 1.6 lawn mower lump thats tuned up with twin turbos(I have a fair amount of parts already for that that i been collecting for a while) however I`m also at a the rock/hard place with mind to go for either a VR6 or a V5 from a golf, plenty of bhp to tune out of those engines and sound superb!
