Ricolas the true pioneer with an actual working system in his Phantom.

Im a copycat but maybe the first in a van??.....alas i havenbt got as far as the controller yet although everythings there awaiting wiring- basicaly without the controller you need to be an electronic genius which im not so im opting to buy a plug in and play variable controller from ebay or RJES when funds allow - anything from £40-£100+ depending on spec.

I have a complete unit from corsa B or C not sure which, 54 reg car. I have the whole columb including indicator stalks and the link bar with the two universal joints on the end. It was unplugged from the car so the galv box thats attached to the columb is still in place

How would the unit stand up underneath the van if all electrical connections etc sealed?? I was hoping to mount underneath the van so i can use the origional wheel and not have to worry about playing round under the dash.

On my van (T25) There is a long connection rod with U.J's that joins the bottom of the columb to the steering rack and there is more than enough room to install this setup there

Cheers for the help [/img]

A '54 reg is a 'C'. I'm developing a T25 system which will be bolt on, engineered to near OEM spec, which will take the original VW wheel and column switches, in their exact original positions. It'll fit LHD and RHD (RHD slightly easier / neater), and will look almost factory fitted, complete with a new plastic shroud for the lower column, stc. The assistance will be controlled by vehicle speed, as testing in my Syncro (which has 255/55 R18's all round) has shown this, while not essential, will make it very much nicer.

Also see the thread under 'Technical Modifications and Upgrades'.
