especially for megasquirted cars......

MAP sensor (Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor) measures Boost pressure, Y cant they say BOOST SENSOR ?

Now it makes sense where to put the tube for the sensor...

The MAP sensor measures the pressure in the manifold in relation to the outside pressure, if there is no turbo there is no boost. When used on a non-turbo engine the manifold pressure is negative and also adjusted in the software according to temperature etc to get the correct amount of air-fuel mix.
Therefore, it's not a boost sensor.

So is it correct for a turbo engine that it is connected somewhere to the boost pressure system, if it would be the inlet manifold or chargecooler, but what side of the air meteer does it have to go ?

You need to get more knowledge about Megasquirt. There is no air meter in a Megasquirt system, the fuel mix is based on physical laws and calculations based on the MAP.

Taken from http://www.megamanual.com/v22manual/mfuel.htm
The amount of fuel injected by MegaSquirt depends on several factors:

* The Ideal Gas Law that relates the amount of air to its pressure, volume and temperature, (this is a fundamental part of the embedded code).
* Measured values: manifold pressure, engine and intake air temperature, rpm, etc. (these are taken from the sensor measurements).
* Tuning parameters: REQ_FUEL, volumetric efficiency, injector open time, etc. (these are input and adjusted using the tuning software).

I took the air meter as being the air intake on the inlet manifold not the MAF sensor just before the air filter ....

What i think i was getting at was where on the EJ engine would you put the map sensor tube ? in between the turbo and the inlet manifold or coming from the inlet manifold ?

would be easier inbetween the turbo and inlet manifold....

The MAP sensor measurement point should be placed between the turbo and the engine, i.e. on the pressure side.
Still, it's not a boost sensor.

i'm confusing myself with the terms, the map sensor takes a measurment of the amount of boost that is produced, that is why it needs to be int he pressure part of the system (inbetween the turbo and the engine).
