How many gauges would people deem needed for a subaru ej20 turbo conversion ?

I've got a split bug so would like to keep the dash board as clean as poss. i've been thinking of an etb instruments dd2 lite or if i feel particly flush the dd2 pro+... but i dont need the data logger..... these may be more cost effective depending on how many gauges and sensors i need..

also i'll be running a megasquirt system if that makes any difference..

None.
I would at least have a warning light for oil pressure and one for high water temp. But there's no need for any other instruments.

Yeah, warning light for oil pressure, but also a warning light for the charging system.

I would want a water temp gauge, then you can see the problem coming. I wired my temp gauge with a switch so I can switch between oil temp and water temp. But I rarely switch it to oil temp.

And a rev-counter is handy if you want to get the most out of your engine. Grin

Or you could add a serial port and just plug a laptop in and have all your datta on that. A few friends of mine use that for there track cars using an Emerald ECU- I know Elusivestranger has a a laptop link up to-very cool if you ask me. Cool
