Saw that yesterday.
Can do it a lot cheaper (& I have)
£10 or so for some ICs etc from Maplin
£10 for a gash old laptop (I picked up a 486)
Bit of s/w from www.vwrx.com
Takes a while for it to boot though. _________________ The advice you receive on here is worth the paper it's written on.

Mine's ODB I - 98 Impreza
I used the plans on vwrx.com for mine. If you can follow a cct dia you'll have no trouble.
Pop down to Maplins & get some strip board, components, RS232 female connector, and some wire. Lay out the comps on the board and solder up, you'll need to add links & break the track in places. Keep the cct board close to the laptop.
I did substitute C1 for a 22uF cap as 330uF is excessive
Keep C1 and C3 as close to U1's output as you can.
My board's approx 3" x 3" _________________ The advice you receive on here is worth the paper it's written on.
