Does anyone know if people have been able to use the scooby crank/cam trigger system with megasquirt ?

I've looked on www.msextra.com but the search page doesnt work..

MS2-Extra can also control the following cam/crank signals directly:

# Subaru (6/7 trigger signal)
# Rover / TVR V8 3.5L - 5.5L (GEM's will need a 36-1 crank wheel adding) # Oddfire Distributor

superb....... so i dont have to try and machine down an alloy crank pulley for a trigger wheel...

I'm surprised that megasquirt has moved forward so much since i last looked...

So it should beable to directly drive the coil packs ?

I believe so, I'm setting up my new engine with the original coils.

I was thinking of MSD packs b4 i realised i had the orignal scooby ones still in the engine... so all is good....

Have yuou heard of the surface mounted chipped megasquirt i think v3.57. Do u think its that much better than the MSII V3 to warrant going for a built unit rather than home made ?

Sure it's better with surface mounted electronics, but I haven't heard of any real problems with the home soldered cards. The biggest parts can be supported by a small shot with a glue gun and then they can take a lot of tough roads. I know people running DIY-MS cards in their rally cars, and if that's not bumpy so tell me...
