Hi all,

I have at home a granada with the above engine (complete).
Does anyone know if it will fit for a start as it has the efi inlet manifold (which seems high) and the inlet to it + the distributor is on the front of the block????

Also will it be easier to convert it to a carb or use the injection system?

What about the fuel tank? do i just stick the fuel pump in lime + a return? or will it need replacing?

If it will fit would it be easier to order a kit (from usa or somewhere) or wait till one turns up?? (unless someone has one for sale!)

sorry about the questions, it just seems a shame to scrap it if I can make some use of it.

It's to fit my '77 moonraker - jp know's the one!!

DAN.

Grin

Watcha Dan, Steve was giving me the impression you'd had enough of the bus I was expecting it to turn up in the Trade-it... unfinished project...

So anymore developments on your camper since the above picture ?

My Spitfire is officially on the road legally today (only took 9+ years) need to take it over to Steves to sort out a few bits of paintwork and get him to finish my hard top !!

In answer to your question no idea Sad I know Pinto engines are a popular choice but this is a bit of a different beast I believe. You should be able to stick with the original vw fuel tank and put a return line in the top.

As for adapter kits they do come up on Ebay (was one last week) you could try getting one made using mine as a template not sure what that would cost though.

Hey!!

"Steve was giving me the impression you'd had enough of the bus"

Nearly.... I'd had enough of him having the bus tho (you know what I mean) Wink

It isn't really much further than it was. Done alot of seam sealing. Going to crack on with it in a couple of weeks. My time (and money) has been diverted on CZECHWRECKS!!
I have all the bits I need, it's just a case of getting on with the bodywork.

I thought I'd ask about the engine as I've got it - you know what it's like when you get thinking about something, it goes from 'will it fit' to 'I'll make it fit'!!!!

Here I am thinking about changing the engine on a bus that I have only done 10 miles on in 2 years!! I'll do some measurements and see.

Well done with the spitfire - all finished except the hard top!
Be carefull soon you will have too much time on your hands and not enough projects.

The template idea sounds good. I mean if you have it apart allready.

contact pds racing (already listed under adaptors) as the granada engine still fits the mt75 gearbox as does the pinto so should be able to use one of there's just contact them first, don't forget to mention where you heard of them from Grin
