|
|
I brought a ej 22 with ec and what i thought was a full loom. I've come to strip it down and it looks like someone has had a go at this already so i've now got no idea if its complete or if the wrong wires have been cut etc.
so rather than waste my time stripping down a loom that might be scrap anyway i thought i'd see if anyone has one for sale either complete or stripped down ready for vw use!
cheers

Hi John,
if you look for a loom make shure to get one of the same year and model.
You can also try to get your loom fixed or modified by using the following diagramms that show the ECU pin out and the loom after it is modified for a VW (in this case a T3)
See: www.subarubus.de
downloads
take "Sehr guter Schaltplan"
and "Pinbelegung 90er 2.2L"
Thatīs all you need.
Since wire colours are sometimes different always go by number not by colour.

Hello John,
Do you know what the damage is or what is missing from your EJ22 harness? I have a lot of experience with Subaru harness work, and can repair it if I have the right connectors to replace any which are missing. I do have some spare EJ22 connectors. If you initially thought it was complete, I assume there probably isn't much missing?
Also, Shropshire is not a million miles away from me (Cheadle, north Staffordshire), so if you wanted to bring the harness to me I could probably tell you whether it's beyond being worth repairing or not. _________________ Regards,

Cool had a mate (Si aka Roadi) come over on sat and sit with me in a mess of wires. Thankfully it looks like all is good and i've got all the right bits and nothing that i needed was missing!
some pics of the work in progress:
all sorted now and fingers crossed it'll work when i might get to start the engine at the weekend. |

Not yet, these were taken by my better half whilst delivering tea
I intend to take some proper pics and do a complete thread on the conversion. I'm at the final 'mock up' stage and i'm about to tear it all out to sort out a few details and then fix it all in properly and neatly. I'll try my best to take as many pics as i can as i go along.
Fingers crossed for a dubfreeze debut if all goes well! |

yep will try and get plenty of pics as i build it back up, didn't take too many so far as its all umming and aaaring and making templates and seeing what'll work.
The teardown and rebuild should provide plenty of pics of what does work!
Hopefully! |
