Any idea on cross compatibility accross the engine range?
I'm looking at various exhaust manifolds on ebay etc to form the basis of my exhaust system.
I've got a na ej20 from a legacy and i'm looking at stock manifolds from a 2.5 outback or even 2.2 or 2.0 turbo manifolds.
The manifold to head flanges look similar, but are the engines different widths etc like you'd find on a vw stroker etc!
cheers

WHS^^^^
You will find that a turbo manifold gives you greater ground clearance than a NA manifold. The "angles of dangle" and exhaust port lengths are different.
Moding a stock manifold will also give you more. There's a few photos on Aussies by Subaru Boxer showing how to do this.
However, Scooby manifolds are pants (#1) as they're very unequal lengths and don't promote scavenging.
#1 Mine seems ok but I'll be making a proper SS equal length system at somepoint. Mine's just stock NA header into some Jetex bends and an Astra (I think) back box.

Having the stock 4-1 seems to work better than having the LHS pots into one can & the RHS pots into another. _________________ The advice you receive on here is worth the paper it's written on.

So one can's linked to 1 & 3 (VW notation on cylinders) and the other on 2 & 4? _________________ The advice you receive on here is worth the paper it's written on.
