I like U-pol. Available in 'Household' and 'Bodyshop' sizes from Brown Bros at very reasonable rates. Nice and easy to sand.
There's a very runny stuff called "Dolphin Glaze". This comes in a 500ml (I think) squeezy bag. It's self levelling (can be used on vert surfaces), easy sand - makes a good stopper or knifing putty. You can mix (needs standard Benzoyl peroxide activator) a wee amount easily. It's good stuff
U-pol also do a nice bridging filler.
If you're doing loads of filling, can't be bothered to use & clean a proper mixing board go for "Onion Board". This is approx 100 sheets of paper glued down 3 edges bonded onto a thick card. Mix yer filler, apply & rip off that sheet.
The 'spray filler' you're referring to is prolly "High Build Primer", usually available in 2K or 1K (rattle cans). It's only really for filling small scratches.
If you want "Etch Primer" the U-pol stuff is good, comes in a rattle can. Bout 7 quid.
Browns (unipart) do their own 2K stuff - Trade name is "Bodyline".
I don't work for Brown Bros, just always had great service & good prices!
