Right folks, i will be putting in the alfa engine this weekend so will need to start to get parts for the coling
i want to run the rad up front in the wizard so was wondering what car i should use for a donor rad and expansion tank. What rads ave you guys used in the past?
should i mount the expansion tank under the bonnet?
I will be drilling out the valance and bonnet with hole saws to get cooling in and mesh it to look groovy
what is the best piping to use between the engine and rad.##oh ad one or cooling fans? and where should i get it from _________________ "Doc I can't stop singing The Green, Green Grass of home"

Yep, the crankcase is iron, but the heads and intake manifold (through which the coolant also flows) are alloy.
The word on the internet is that it's a bad idea to combine copper and alloy in a cooling system, but I don't now how big this problem is. _________________ homepage

I'm still sitting on the fence on this debate.
Copper and ally don't mix - fact.
Good coolant and insulate ie rubber between the Cu an Al pipes doesn't seem to be a problem from various articles that I have read. Al and stainless is just as bad according to theory.
Google "Galvanic corrosion" and make your own opinion
You could say, "umm if this engine lasts 5 years, it owes me nothing" and work on that basis _________________ The advice you receive on here is worth the paper it's written on.
