Just having a chat with Bugfez on email and he noticed that my adapter was different to the one he just purchased and noticed that his starter would locate on opposite side to mine !

Looking at Steamo's adapter his looks like his will also be opposite to mine ! Is this true or am I going mad....

This is my adapter mounted to G'box

This is Steamo's

and Bugfez's adapter

just been and had a look at my lovely escort and looks like my adapter should work as ford starter is on the front of the engine. as for input shaft i need to know where to get one from....anybody? brought the adapter off ebay complete with release bearing but no shaft, it was only 50 quid so figured it was a bargain.

J.P. . Both my Ford adaptor plates use the Ford starter motor and look exactly the same as Steamo's & Bugfez with starter at the 4 oclock location. Mine are both GBE Engineering items.
Hope this helps.

Pretty weird that.. glad I'm not going mad

TBH I'd prefer my starter to be at 4 o clock as less cable required from the battery... I reckon I must have a european/US LHD drive version Grin

Think mine looks better quality

Yer mine is just like them two. Maybe yours is differant because it is a Kennedy one and I asume we all have GBE ones.

Shouldn't be a problem though. I did have to cut a bit out of my bellhousing though so that the ford stater motor fited properly.

Been away for a 4 days-how is every ones projects getting on? Mine is running OK but my electrics are really playing up so gonna head back to portsmouth for 10 days to rewire, fit guages, fit new boady panels and new custom lights-I hope I can get it all done!

Ahhh the coilover question.. afraid I have no idea what they are off all I know is they are made by munroe... sorry..

As for weight Mondeo forum have varying answers between 160kg and 210kg
Any idea on weight of the FLat 4 ? I seen on one site it's about 113kg in which case a fair bit heavier.
