Year: 1972
Engine details: Ford Escort 1989 MK4, 1.8DL on a GBE Adaptor plate and home made custom built rear engine bar-uses original engine mounts found on car.
MPG: 55MPG
1/4 mile time: Too Long to list
0-60 Not very good.
Top speed 90mph down a slight hill.
Cooling system details: Front mounted Land Rover 200TDI Radiator (38mm In/outlets) with 14” performance fan hidden in a Subaru Spare Wheel Cover. Twin Rover 215 header tanks, 38mm rubber hose and ford escort heater system.
Other non conversion mods: Shockwave 5000 Air Suspension struts with individual 4 wheel bag control, 2Litre Gearbox, Custom Dashboard and Door Cards, 2” Shorted steering wheel boss and mountney wheel, Custom Rear Engine Door, T25 Top engine hatch, Custom Rear lights, 2” lowered and smoothed bumpers, Smoothed and de-seamed body, T25 front callipers on, Porsche 911 Tachometer on Dakota digital conversion box, BSA Type 289 wheels, Rally Style wiper mounted washer jets, Deluxe-Trim, Visor and opening ¼ lights and home made split charge system.
Parts waiting to be added: Rascal-style steering system, Custom rear interior, Porsche 944 servo, Rear airbags
Approx cost of conversion. Approximately £4000 for every thing including restoration and parts that I haven’t added yet.
