Nice purchase J.P.

You'll have to keep me informed of this one, coming back round to the TD idea after I drove the works TD - that pulls around 3.5-4K up at around 75 so I don't think that should be too bad (all the injection ECU gubbins is putting me off the petrol engines as well).

Icidentally does the escort have a rev counter - if so what does that pull at 70 and 80.

Nice work JP I'm gonna start looking for one after the summer me thinks-Once I've sprayed her. Got me a hole load of new panels to fit over easter so hopefully she'll be looking spanking again!

On a sader not we had some gang land vilance in my hood and my poor van got caught in BB cross fire and had the window shot out!!! My poor van. Still only cost me £5 for a new bit of glass from retrodubs-but I still havent found the little kid who shot me-but I will!

Oh love the body kit on the car too-is it staying on!

Hi J.P. . . . Does your Bay have a rev counter ? It would be interesting to compare the Escorts revs at 70 with the Bay's gearing . . . Grin
I know My Covin is a different beast with RS Turbo engine and Type 3 box but it revs approx 3500 at 70 and 4000 at 80. Running on 17 inch wheels with 50 profile tyres and measuring total outside diameter of 25 inches. Changing from 16 inch wheels to 17's last year helped drop revs and improve fuel consumption as well as looks better....lol

No rev counter on Bay Sad so will be interesting to see how it compares.

I have a 2 ltr box to go in the bay and 17" Boxster wheels am gonna look into rubber for the rears to maximise the circumference.. have 205/45 on front thinking 225/235 - 50/55 on back... if such tyres exist/ will fit. Think I need to drop my revs a bit more than your covin if I can.

Next task for tonights journey home what revs does govnor kick in Happy Turbo seems to kick in about 2000 rpm

It seems as if a 1600 bay is at just over 4000 at 70 on standard tyres.

I've got 225 65 15 tyres for the rear - just been doing the sums to work out the extra circumferance think.

If the standard tyres are 185 80 14 (anybody know for sure) then it only makes about 3% difference (120 revs) - thats in theory though (by doing the sums) going to measure the actual diference as soon as I'm next up at my lock up.

I've been offered a 5 rib bay box - does anyone know how much this will raise the ratios roughly.
