|
|
Got A 1990 ex 2.1 wasserboxer powered panel and want a quick and easy solution to the engine blowing up. As the cooling system is already there, How easy is the EJ22 conversion? Is it simply case of adapter then bolting it back up or are there some jobs that'll make it more complex? Who makes up the exausts etc?
Cheers

give RJES a ring - or have a look on his site.....link over on the right>
www.rjes.com
he supplies all you need for the conversion and is an extremely helpful guy. aside from what you mention youll need to sort out a loom - again RJES\ can help here.
and also theres a good write up in ultra vw this month of a similar conversion done in Keith Suemes bus to give you an idea of whats involved. |

Hardest bit is the wiring loom really.
Reversing the Subaru water manifold is a good idea. Rich Jones can take care of that for you too.
May not be quick and easy if you do it yourself.... but it's a great conversion.
If you get the Scooby header it's easy to fabricate up a exhaust - may not be the most practical but it gets you on the road.
Mine was made from Jetex supplied 45° bend (x2), some straight and an Astra SRi back box.
