OK, this is the first entry of many that will take place over the next couple of years for my 71 V8 Bay project.
Its intended as much as a sanity check & log for me as much as what I hope some will find an interesting read.

The kind of things i'll be posting will be..
- Progress updates
- Pictures
- Video
- URL's to useful sites

A brief history of the projects so far...
I have had this bus for nearly 7 years to date and for 5 1/2 of those, its been off the road being restored. In its curent state, it has a fully restored body and is configured with 944 rear suspension & scooby bi-turbo engine.

restoration almost done (some tame ago)

944 setup - on a Bay!

Scooby bi-turbo, RJES bell to 091

But, i've had a change of mind and have decided to go full bore and below is the final plan of attack.

Engine - Lexus 4ltr V8 (with twin turbo's at a later date)
Box - GM 4 speed auto 4L80E (basicly, an electronic controled O/D TH400)
Rear - Jag LSD IRS
Front - Jag or Mustang (tbc)
Engine control - Megasquirt (and Megashift for box)
Chassis - Full tube chassis

The engin and box will be mated via adapter plate (for which I have CAD drawings) and a custom torque converter and if you cant pictureit, the configuaration will be mid-mount engine / box fastening directly to the IRS via a marine polyflex coupling.

At the moment, im still collecting parts and researching and I have started to creat the 3D CAD simulation of the chassis & drive train before any work starts.

Well thats it for now. Its going to cause me a load of headaches but should keep me 'entertained' for a couple more years.

Feel free to offer any feedback or discussion.
