Hello all!
First of all, I like this forum. Many homebuilders showing and sharing their ideas on how to improve lawn mower vw's.
but I think the forum has too many sections. I would just delete some of them, and go on with the core of the forum.
Test area - Delete
Legislation - delete
chat - delete
Bar - delete (nobody comes here for rubbish. Maybe just an intro section)
Events - delete
Kool conversions section is fine
Kool links - just a single section, under the header of kool conversions would do
General maintanance - delete
Kooling - should be a section under heading kool conversions
All different brand sections - delete (start thread in kool rides section)
Bring and buy section is okay, but delete EBAY part
last part is okay.
Just my thought on how to increase forum accessability and probably visitor numbers _________________ 1973 BayWindow running 1.9 110 bhp TDI with flipped gearbox. |

Hi
I agree with your suggestions, I find this forum to be very quiet at times, I always hit "view posts since last visit" to often find that there have been no posts.
This site is a great resource but only if we keep posting what where doing here. I often post in other forums the same information that I post here as not every reader reads the same forums.
I post in German Look, Aussie Veedubbers, Superbeetles only and Facebook

Fair points.. I'll have a bit of a slim down and see if we go faster..
TBH the site needs bringing upto date as it's about 100 versions behind the latest version of phpbb... I'd just rather be spending my spare time which I seem to have very little of on the bus rather than pissing around with the website.
The site still gets massive hits/traffic so assume people use it to get the info they need then fcuk Off ... twas quite frustrating being at Busfest and seeing the amount of Subaru Conversions there and asking the owners if they go on VWKD... most said they did and really useful info but never registered/posted anything.
Some people are all take take take
If the site made some money instead of costing me money I'd probably pay someone to sort it out but for now your stuck with it's phone/tablet unfriendly retroness _________________ 1971 Devon Bay with 1800 Ford Turbo Diesel Engine (wip)

Hi
Thanks for all your hard work, I've had answers here with a few clicks that I've searched the net for ages to find.

So, if the sites gets lots of views, wouldn't some advertisement pay off? You will probably only need a little to pay the costs. (it's not THAT expensive right?)
With a small profit you can cover the hours and have a beer while updating the site!
On topic: Good job already bringing back the amount of sections! _________________ 1973 BayWindow running 1.9 110 bhp TDI with flipped gearbox. |

Here is me again, with another suggestion (just ignore me if you have better things to do though )
I find the 'Popular thread' icon very confusing, as it blinks similar to the 'unread posts' icon.
On top of this, popular threads will always stay on top as there will be updates.
So, maybe get rid of the popular thread icon? _________________ 1973 BayWindow running 1.9 110 bhp TDI with flipped gearbox. |

Hello,
I find the site okay as it is at the moment. But there's always room for improvement.
For instance, there are so many unnecessary bars during sign-up. If only you could remove a few that are not mandatory. It would still help. Perhaps we could have more people sign up easily and more engagements on the platform.
Those are my two cents. _________________ 2022 |
