Have bought a T25 for the Tdi parts already fitted, engine and box were in but not running. When i went to turn it over before fitting a starter motor it was solid. As had been stood for a while i assumed had seized but after removing sump and each big end in turn and finding all 4 pistons free i loosened off the engine to bellhousing bolts a couple of turns and it turned over fine (wish had tried that first!!)
Now turning ok but was hitting something, removed gearbox and could see 2 lugs on clutch pressure plate that were hitting release lever housing, ground them off but looks like not enough clearance between pressure plate and bellhousing, maybe machining 2mm off flywheel? Just wondered what others have used? As far as i know its fitted with standard Golf flywheel and clutch from a 1996 Tdi AHU.
Thanks,
Peter. |
