|
|
Hi guys.
I'm hoping to fit a flipped Audi/Passat box into my split with its 1.9tdi.
Is it possible to keep the split gearbox cradle and horns?
Do I need to cut my torsion housing at all?
Does anyone have a nice side-on picture of the engine and box installed in a bus (of any sort) to see ground clearance and just how high the cv mount is compared to the chassis legs.
Cheers |

I'll get a pic for you In a little while.
At the moment. It's about 7 inches clearance below the sump.
And where the bell housing and adapter plate attaches to the engine is probably about the same.
As for the torsion bar.
Have a look at Easy Does It's thread.
I can't help you there as I ripped out my torsion bar stuff to put in the t25 suspension before the flipped G'box option came along. |

Thank you.
What's the clearance of your chassis? So I can compare it to your 7" engine/box clearance. |

That's easy-does-it's set up.
I'm looking after the little one today. I'll pop out an measure up and photo anything you like after she goes for her nap at 11.30. |
