So I would like to make a mount for my Subaru transmission into my 79 bay window bus / Kombi. Has anyone made one? I know they are available to purchase but I would like to make it. Looking for measurements, plans, links to builds, ideas. help
Thanks

Subaru gears offers the plans to make these.

They use the Subaru subframe and some brackets between the chassis rails for the engine to mount from. Can't remember how they do the front gearbox mount. Oh actually he sells that doesn't he.

Mine was made. But it's an evolution from my Porsche 915 mount. Essentially all you need though is a strong bar to bridge the two remaining front transmission mounting points and the some type of rubber engine mount at each end of the bar.

Thanks for the pic Kai. Yeah Subaru gears dose make both engine mount and transmission mount brackets that look great. My exchange rate (Canada) is just so bad right now that if I bought them, after taxes they would cost 1.5x what I paid for my 2000 Subaru. If I can make them and they look half as good as those ones I will be satisfied.
In your pic is that mounted in a Bus; what year? I can't make out your rear torsion tube.

Ow yeah!! The Canadian dollar exchange rate is fantastic at the moment Laugh Out Loud

I just bought some caliper adaptors from vdub engineering. Cost me £50 delivered to me in England. I couldnt get them made here for that. Was well chuffed.

That's a picture of my type 3 notchback. I had a moustache bar made up that spans between the standard type 3 engine mount locations and it bridges between the two Subaru engine mounts.
