Flipped Passat box seeing as your already running an in line 4 engine.

Or a petrol t25 box maybe.

You could go for bigger tires...

recently, I put some huge ass tires under my van.

Too big though. The van was getting slow. But I was amazed at the difference these tires make. Size is 205/80R16

There are some mercedes rims you can use. These have same ET and bolt layout, and are available at 16 inch. I used these ass well.

Is it a t25 bus you have then?

With your 3 rib box. As Wilfred said you can stick some bigger rear tyres on it which will drop the revs down. Another solution is to change the final drive ring gear on the diff inside the 3 rib gearbox. This will also drop the revs. Could be cheaper then going into a complete gearbox transfer.
