clutching at straws . . .

like the title says - clutch related problem

i have a karmann ghia with a n/a 2 litre lump

however, the clutch does not fully disengage - and slips

i fitted a bus clutch arm - beefier to keep up with the stage 1 kennedy clutch

the fingers of the clutch appear not to bend inwards when the clutch plate is tightened on the flywheel , hence the clearance issues and the as a consequence the clutch slipping ?

any ideas, without taking out the engine again?

it is a ds tuning adapter plate - should it have the standard bus clutch at 215mm?

your help will be much appreciated
